Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is the latest addition to this year’s Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade Lineup.
The theme for this year’s parade (its 66th year) is “Holidays on Route 66.” Grand Marshall will be actor and activist Francesco Quinn (“Platoon”).
Other honored guests include: Rogers Family Descendants (Descendents of Highland Park’s early land owners), Scott Piotrowski (Director of Route 66 Productions and Author of “Finding the End of the Mother Road: Route 66 in Los Angeles County”), Amy Inouye and Chicken Boy (Saved Chicken Boy from demolition on Route 66 Downtown and gave him a home on Route 66 in Highland Park) and Brian Mallman (NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night Founder).
There will also be local Marching Bands, Drill Teams, Dancers, Musicians, Floats, Horses, Classic Cars, Elected Representatives and Community Leaders.
And—making his 66th Northeast Los Angeles appearance—Santa Claus will greet the crowd from atop an LAFD fire truck!
The Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade is a volunteer-led effort sponsored by the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce, with generous assistance from City Councilmembers Ed Reyes and Jose Huizar, plus numerous local businesses and organizations. It is the second oldest parade in Los Angeles.
